In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University Police Department at Buffalo State is notifying the campus community of a strong-arm robbery that occurred near Coyer Field along Grant Street around 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning.
A male student reported to University Police early Saturday morning that a car stopped near him while he was walking on the grass between Coyer Field and Grant Street. Two male suspects got out of the car and attacked the victim, taking his wallet and cell phone. After the robbery, the victim ran to the main entrance of the Student Apartment Complex and called University Police from a blue light phone for assistance. The student victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The suspects, who were both described as black males with facial hair and wearing black hooded sweatshirts, fled the scene in the car. If you have any information that may be of assistance, please call University Police immediately at (716) 878-6333.
