In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University Police Department at Buffalo State is notifying the campus community of an investigation by City of Buffalo Police into an armed robbery that occurred off campus near the Asarese-Matters Community Center early Saturday morning, September 7.
At approximately 3:15 a.m., a resident student reported to Buffalo Police that he was robbed while walking off campus near the Asarese-Matters Community Center at the intersection of Rees and Bradley streets. Around 2:00 a.m., the victim, said that a black four-door sedan—possibly a Nissan or a Toyota—pulled up beside him and two men stepped out of the vehicle and approached the victim. Shortly thereafter, one of the suspects grabbed the victim’s shoulder, displayed a black hand gun and demanded his wallet and cell phone. The victim, who was unharmed, turned over the items and fled the scene.
The two suspects are described as follows:
Suspect 1 is a black male, medium complexion, about 5’6” tall;
Suspect 2 is a black male, darker complexion, about 6’ tall.
