In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University Police Department at Buffalo State is notifying the campus community of a reported robbery that occurred along Elmwood Avenue in front of Rockwell Hall Saturday evening.
Earlier this afternoon, Tuesday, September 3, a male Buffalo State resident student reported to University Police that he was the victim of a knifepoint robbery on Saturday, August 31, at approximately 6:00 p.m. The victim stated that while riding his bicycle on the bike path along Elmwood Avenue in front of Rockwell Hall, a white car with tinted windows pulled over beside him. The suspect, a white male, got out of the car, approached the victim on the bike path, and displayed a fixed-blade knife and demanded his backpack. The victim handed over his backpack and the suspect got back in his vehicle and drove away from campus. The victim was unharmed.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’4”, 200lbs, bald, wearing blue jeans, and a tank top. If you have any information that may be of assistance, please call University Police immediately at (716) 878-6333 or call the UPD anonymous tip line at (716) 878-3166.
