With the first day of spring FINALLY upon us, University Police would like to remind members of the campus community to be aware of their surroundings at all times—both on and off campus. As the weather improves and temperatures rise, crimes of opportunity also increase. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to walk with friends, especially at night, and take advantage of safe escort programs available to the campus community.
UPD provides a walking escort with a UPSA or a ride on the shuttle service van free of charge. A personal walking escort to your car or residence hall can be requested by calling University Police at (716) 878-6333 from a cell, campus, or blue-light phone. The shuttle service van runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. daily and can be tracked via the SmartTraxx app from your mobile device. More information is available online at https://police.buffalostate.edu/safe-escort-programs.
