In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University Police Department at Buffalo State is notifying the campus community of a fight that occurred on campus early Sunday morning, September 29, that included someone firing a gun into the air.
At approximately 3:55 a.m. Sunday morning, 12 individuals were involved in a fight at the intersection at Rockwell Road and Rees Street near Lot R-15. During the fight, one individual fired a weapon into the air and fled away from campus toward the Campus Walk apartment complex. No injuries have been reported at this time.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up, jeans, and white sneakers.
University Police and City of Buffalo Police are actively investigating the incident at this time. UPD will have targeted patrols in the area for the remainder of the weekend.
