In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the University Police Department at Buffalo State is notifying the campus community of an investigation by City of Buffalo Police into an armed robbery that occurred near campus on Hawley and Letchworth Streets Saturday afternoon, September 14.
A non-student reported to Buffalo Police today that at 2:45 p.m. he was robbed at gunpoint at Hawley and Letchworth Streets. The suspect displayed what appeared to be a dark semi-automatic hand gun and ordered the victim out of his vehicle. The victim, who was unharmed, surrendered his property and the suspect fled the scene in the victim's vehicle.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, about 20 years of age, 5'7", thin build, with a mustache, and wearing a grey hoodie.

University Police will have targeted patrols in the area this weekend in light of the incident.
